Social Worker on premise

Suzy Kock, is one of MetaCorp and subsidiaries' social workers. She assists the employee as also their family. Assistance can be related to a personal situation or a work situation. Both aspects can prevent an employee from working optimally.

Many times we think that we should be ashamed to express our bad situations to someone else and reach out for help. We're afraid that people may think of us as being 'strange' or that we've failed. The reality is that we all can be faced with situations in life that will affect us emotionally.

Many times we have the tendency to believe that we are the only going through a moment of pain and/or great changes. It's important for us to know that we're never alone and that there's help to face challenges in life.

The role of the social worker is to listen to the employee (and family) in a confidential manner without judgement.

Together they create a plan of action on the steps to be taken to continue with the guidance and treatment.

When a referral to a clinic is necessary, the social worker analyzes each case individually to be able to offer the best available option(s).

It's important to mention, that the employee will receive all information and tools to help his situation, however, the compromise of the employee to change his circumstances is of utmost importance.

The social worker is there for the employee during his process and where it's required to intervene between employee and his supervisor(s) / work, to reach to better decisions this way and to a better form of assistance.

Personal reasons that can bring an employee to a company social worker are a.o. situation at home between couples / children, substance abuse, emotional trauma, finance.
