Wendell's 50th Anniversary Celebration

On Friday September 23, 2022 we had the honor of celebrating Wendell Bennett’s 50th Anniversary as part of the MetaCorp family.

It was a joyous night filled with memories, celebration and people who, in some way or the other, had formed a part of Wendell Bennett’s Career trajectory and he in theirs.

Our leadership, colleagues, friends and family all joined in on the celebration of this big milestone.

Mr. de Veer shared the story of the impressive career that Wendell has led with the company, and elaborated on how Wendell was hired on the spot, because he saw something in him and for 50 years has had the pleasure of watching him grow within the company and together, accomplished great things.

After a word of congratulations from our CEO, Eddie de Veer, both of Wendell Bennett's sons, Rene and Shaquille, gave heartfelt speeches and expressed their admiration of their father’s achievements. Rene was able to be present at the event, and though his younger brother was not, he thoughtfully sent in a pre-recorded video. We were even treated to the adorable speech of one of Wendell’s granddaughters who bravely stood in front of the large crowd to express her admiration for her grandfather.

When it was time for Wendell’s speech, he expressed many thank you’s and stories, admiration for the company that had become his family. Hard work and loyalty, which goes both ways, were core themes during this.

Wendell also shared his advice for the next generation that will carry the company for the next 50 years and beyond;

3. Stay out of your comfort zone

4. Don’t leave for tomorrow what you can do today

After food was served, Buleria began playing and colleagues enjoyed listening and dancing to their lively music!
