The late twenties and early thirties saw a flurry of activity. Shon Eddy opened the Royal Theater in San Nicolas, later named the Principal Theater. Then there was the Cinelandia Theater, followed by the Lago Heights Theater (also in San Nicolas), the Esso Club Theater at Lago’s residential community in Seroe Colorado, the Eagle Theater at the Eagle Club and the Savaneta Theater near the Dutch Marines camp. Soon after these openings, the Aurora Theater opened in Santa Cruz.
